Archeological Survey of India (ASI) has recently discovered two 1200-year-old miniature votive stupas during landscaping activities near Sarai Tila mound on the premises of ‘Nalanda Mahavihara’, a world heritage site in Nalanda district.(भारतीय पुरातत्व सर्वेक्षण (एएसआई) ने हाल ही में नालंदा जिले में विश्व धरोहर स्थल ‘नालंदा महाविहार’ के परिसर में सराय टीला टीले के पास भूनिर्माण गतिविधियों के दौरान 1200 साल पुराने दो लघु मन्नत स्तूपों की खोज की है)

About Votive stupa (मन्नत स्तूप के बारे में) :

  • These are forms of the stupas, with their distinctive domelike drum, originating in eight cylindrical structures in which the Buddha’s relics were placed after his death (ये स्तूपों के रूप हैं, उनके विशिष्ट गुंबददार ड्रम के साथ, आठ बेलनाकार संरचनाओं में उत्पन्न हुए जिनमें बुद्ध के अवशेष उनकी मृत्यु के बाद रखे गए थे)
