Recently, The President of India greeted fellow citizens on the eve of Lohri (which falls on 13th January 2023) Makar Sankranti, Magh Bihu and Pongal (which fall on 14th January 2023) (हाल ही में, भारत के राष्ट्रपति ने लोहड़ी (जो 13 जनवरी 2023 को पड़ती है) मकर संक्रांति, माघ बिहू और पोंगल (जो 14 जनवरी 2023 को पड़ती है) की पूर्व संध्या पर देशवासियों को बधाई दी।)
What is Bihu (बिहू क्या है)
- Bihu is one of Assam’s most prominent cultural events, celebrating the changing seasons (बिहू असम के सबसे प्रमुख सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रमों में से एक है, जो बदलते मौसम का जश्न मनाता है)
- The festival of Bihu has three forms: Bohag Bihu, Kati Bihu and Magh Bihu. Each of these falls in the agriculture calendar (बिहू के त्योहार के तीन रूप हैं: बोहाग बिहू, कटि बिहू और माघ बिहू। इनमें से प्रत्येक कृषि कैलेंडर में आता है)
- This day is considered auspicious in the Hindu lunar year as well and is known as the Makar Sankranti, i.e., the day when the sun begins its northward journey or Uttarayan and transitions into the Hindu zodiac sign of Makara ( इस दिन को हिंदू चंद्र वर्ष में भी शुभ माना जाता है और इसे मकर संक्रांति के रूप में जाना जाता है, यानी वह दिन जब सूर्य अपनी उत्तर दिशा की यात्रा या उत्तरायण शुरू करता है और हिंदू राशि मकर में संक्रमण करता है)
- On this day the Sun God is worshipped in various parts of India in the form of different festivals such as Pongal (Tamil Nadu), Maghi (Punjab) and Uttarayan (Gujarat) (इस दिन भारत के विभिन्न हिस्सों में विभिन्न त्योहारों जैसे पोंगल (तमिलनाडु), माघी (पंजाब) और उत्तरायण (गुजरात) के रूप में सूर्य देव की पूजा की जाती है)
